In Beijing, China

First time in Beijing! It has been a nice surprise overall; nice people (except for one lousy scoundrel cab driver who stole money from my colleague), great food and interesting buildings. The schedule was pretty tight so I did not have time to see all the things I wanted to see but managed to visit the Tiananmen Square, the Silk Market and eat Peking Duck at least.

At the Tiananmen Square at night, with the entrance to the Forbidden City in the back.

Traffic is intense but I did not had to sit through Sao Paulo-like traffic jams at least!

Detail of the Bird Nest sports stadium, built specially for the Olympics.

Detail of the building where the swimming events will be held.

Another cool building, close to the Olympics area.

More innovative architecture.

Chinese style fachade marketing.

"Prohibited to blow up your car"...?

Peking duck at restaurant Xi He Ya Ju.

Happy after having eaten some duck.
