Hässelbyloppet 2011
I ran Hässelbyloppet last Sunday, 10 kilometers in 1:08:29. Not a world record but I did improve my result from Midnattsloppet in August with 9 minutes! Since that race I lost nine kilos so that converts into one minute gained per kilo lost! In August I started dieting and exercising and it seems to be paying off.
The race day was sunny and quite chilly. Over 6000 registered to run and in the end 4242 runners participated, roughly 50% men and 50% women. I finished as number 2033. It sounds like a better result than it was actually, I competed in the Mens' Class with 2060 runners, haha.
At least I finished and as stated above, the result was an improvement since my last run so the trend is looking good. The result could have been even better but the strengths were just not there due to a flu I caught ten days prior to the race why I did not do any exercising at all for about a week.
If I keep up with my exercising, mainly biking to and from work and manage to stick to my dieting, maybe I will manage to run 10 kilometers under 60 minutes next spring! I just enlisted to participate in Spring Cross, it's a six kilometer terrain race on May 5th 2012 on Djurgården in Stockholm.
My legs are killing me right now, the muscles are sore and I walk around like a 100-year-old man, could hardly get out of the bed this morning, haha. Hence, it will be essential for me to add jogging to prepare for the next run.
