In Beijing, China

First time in Beijing! It has been a nice surprise overall; nice people (except for one lousy scoundrel cab driver who stole money from my colleague), great food and interesting buildings. The schedule was pretty tight so I did not have time to see all the things I wanted to see but managed to visit the Tiananmen Square, the Silk Market and eat Peking Duck at least.

Traffic is intense but I did not had to sit through Sao Paulo-like traffic jams at least!

Happy Mother´s Day!

Today is Mother´s Day in Sweden, so - HAPPY MOTHER`S DAY, SILVIA! TE AMO!

We had a nice lunch at the Amazon restaurant at Heron City but before that we went to mom´s resting place. It is a beautiful place in the forest, close to Stockholm city. Today it was even more beautiful as the weather was sunny and nice. Harald and Erina were there when we arrived.

Cirkus Maximum

Cirkus Maximum är i stan så jag och dottern åkte med familjen Dalqvist för att se showen. Väldigt hög kvalitet på artisterna tycker jag. Bäst var nog killen som jonglerade allt möjligt med fötterna, bland annat studsade han en boll i en korg; korgen satt högst uppe på en sju-åtta meter lång stolpe som han balanserade på fötterna, längs stolpe satt sex små plattor som han använde för att studsa bollen uppåt och in i korgen. Helt otroligt!

Elefanterna stod på huvudet, gick på bakbenen och programmerade C++ live...

De blinkande leksakerna var klart roligast, tyckte Gabriela. Pappa hade sparat en femhunding och undvikit svår allergichock pga cirkusdjuren om han endast köpt leksaken och alla stannat hemma istället och tittat på TV!

Operation FixHouse initiated!

The furniture is in a container on a boat somewhere in the Atlantic and while waiting for it to arrive to Sweden we have started to fix the house.

Silvia has huge plans for the kitchen; we are talking about removing walls, tiles, cabinets, closing an entrance and basically giving it a complete make-over.

However, being an experienced house renovator (that was a joke, people!) I say we do first things first and that means painting the ceilings, painting or putting wallpaper on the walls in all rooms. This has proven to be a challenge already...

After an hour trying to remove the lamp from the ceiling I gave up. It won. The previous owners must have used glue or something because there are no screws to unscrew!!!

Daddy´s little helper. I told her "We need to protect the floor from paintdrops so you need to cover the floor with paper and fixate with some tape". And she followed my instructions very thoroughly!

We did not buy a house, we bought a Swiss cheese! In this room there were over thirty (30!) holes to fill!

Picknick på Djurgården

Ojojojoj, vilket väder det var i lördags! 25 grader i luften och solen som sken från en klarblå himmel. Vi fixade en picknick på Waldemarsudde, tanken var att kolla in Quarnevalen på eftermiddagen men det sket sig, det var för skönt att ligga i solen och slappa...

Skönt att ligga och ta igen sig lite emellanåt!

"Hahaha! Fan, jag hittade det, Pepes Bodega! Ligger bakom hotellet!"

Jag hade fixat rosmarinsdoftande lammfärsbiffar som vi käkade i wraps med grekisk sallad och Tzatsiki. Karina och Gustavo kom förbi på cykel.

Harald flög mastodontdrake, vinden var det lite si och så med dock.

Otroligt fint var det! Nu, några dagar senare regnar det och är kallt som bara den. I morse när jag gick till jobbet var det faktiskt varmare i mitt kylskåp! Det håller åtta grader, utomhus var det fem... Men snart kommer nog värmen igen.
